The end of the church age, whenever that is, will be marked by devastating and complete destruction. Until then Peter encourages his readers to live holy and godly lives.

Life step: God has a glorious future in store for those who know Him. Rejoice in that! But considering what will happen to the unbelieving world in the last days, we ought also to watch how we live. You wouldn’t want to be a stumbling block for some lost person who needs to turn to Christ, would you? What manner of life, then, should you live? Make yours a living testimony of God’s grace and love so others will see Jesus in you and be drawn to Him in faith.

How do I Apply this to my Life?

It "seems" like the end of the age is near. Whether it is or not the mission and goal remains the same. To live holy, godly and fruitful lives while we wait for the blessed hope, the glorious appearing of our Great God and Savior Jesus Christ.
